Marija Jelic, soprano

SERBIA

Young and accomplished soprano soloist, Marija Jelic was born and educated in Belgrade and overseas. She studied with famous artists such as Jasmina Trumbetas Petrovic - the primadonna of the Belgrade National Theatre and the current Director of Opera Department.

 

After finishing Mathematical Gymnasium and High Music School "Kosta Manojlovic" in flute and singing, she finished Faculty of Electrical engineering at the University of Belgrade and continued to study singing with Jasmina Trumbetas Petrovic. In 2017 Marija joined the Opera Studio of the Belgrade National Theater and has since appeared in opera productions of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (Barbarina, La Contessa), Verd's: Il Trovatore (Ines) and Nabucco (Anna), Puccini's La Bohème (Mimi) and Turandot (Liu), Bizet's Carmen (Micaela), etc. 

 

Marija received various awards at national and international singing competitions. She has performed in various concert halls including the Kolarac Concert Hall where she performed with the Stanislav Binicki Military Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Belgrade Chinese Orchestra, at the Belgrade Summer Festival and at many other concerts throughout Serbia.
