Belgrade
THE HIDDEN JEWEL OF SOUTHERN EUROPE
Belgrade is the capital of Serbia. Its most significant landmark is the Belgrade Fortress at the confluence of the Danube and the Sava rivers. The fort is a testament to the city’s strategic importance to the Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Serbian and Austrian empires, and it's now the site of several museums as well as Kalemegdan, a vast park...
The ACCOMMODATION in Belgrade is very affordable. Most musicians we work with like to use Airbnb, and a pretty nice apartment in the center (where our concert hall is) can be rented for less than 30 euros. But the prices range from 20 to 40 euros, while hotels (and there are many) start from approx. 40 euros and then go up.
The city never sleeps. The stores are open until late, and some restaurants work all night. If you wake up hungry in the middle of the night, do not worry - probably in your very close vicinity, you can find an open grill, where you can enjoy one of the Serbian delicacies. Chevapchichi is the most popular!
TRAVELING TO BELGRADE should not be very complicated either. The city is situated in the center of Europe and thus well connected with all major cities. Whether you choose it's national airline Air Serbia, or any other (Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, Etihad or Wizz Air - just to name a few) within only a couple of hours you can reach Paris, London, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome, Amsterdam, Moscow or Istanbul directly...
