Conductor PREDRAG GOSTA was born in Belgrade, where he finished his music school. He holds degrees from Trinity College of Music in London, UK, and Georgia State University in Atlanta, USA. He is the Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Makris Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Artistic Director, Chief Conductor and General Manager of the New Belgrade Opera. He also holds the position of the Artistic Director of the period instrument ensemble New Trinity Baroque, the Belgrade Early Music Festival, and is the Music Director of the Gwinnett Ballet Theater in Atlanta. 

 

Gosta published over a dozen compact discs with a repertoire of music from Baroque to modern times. He performed in the USA, Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Mexico, conducting orchestra such as the London Symphony Orchestra (with whom he recorded 2 CDs), the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the St. Petersburg State Cappella “Glinka", the Lüneburg Symphony Orchestra in Germany, the Sofia Philharmonic, the Belgrade Philharmonic, the philharmonic orchestras of Karalia, Tomsk, Murmansk, Maikop, Kislovodsk, Sofia, Burgas and Russe, at the Belgrade National Theatre, the Bulgarian Opera Houses in Burgas and Russe, the Opera-Theatre of Biel and Solothurn in Switzerland, the National Philharmonic in Washington DC and others. He collaborated and recorded with artists such as Marijana Mijanovic, Evelyn Tubb, Carlo Vistoli, John Holloway, Florian Deuter, Ilia Korol, Bojan Cicic, Andrea Inghisciano, Marion Verbruggen, Andrew Lawrence-King, and more.

 

Gosta is currently doing research at the Christ Church College with the University of Oxford.
